for everyone who’s excited about obsidian dragging bethesda this isn’t just about how fucking trash garbage 76 is, this is about how obsidian was shafted by bethesda when fallout new vegas came out.
heres the thing, obsidian used to work on a weird kind of business model where they would make games on a budget for certain companies and if they met a certain review quota they would get a bonus.
new vegas missed the quota by 1 point.
1 point because bethesda didn’t give them enough money to make one of, if not the best game in the franchise, and rushed them continuously through production
this isn’t new drama
this is obsidian finally getting its vindication after bethesda robbed them and almost sent them into financial ruin
For the record? As a self-employed small business owner with a preexisting condition, my pre-ACA health insurace suuuuuuuuucked. My current plan actually provides substantially better coverage than the old one and costs half as much. I only wish I’d done it sooner– getting on the exchange was, tbh, entirely a spite-motivated action on my part, and probably the sole positive impact of 45′s presidency on my life.
the tag “fur-ry” (minus the dash) is among those in the site-side blacklist, and is why so much artwork and so many blogs are suddenly invisible from the search.
provided this isn’t a temporary measure, i strongly advise to remove the “fur-ry” tag and use stand-in tags such as “anthro” and “kemono”, since neither are affected.
the New Xkit extension “Tag Replacer” is an easy way to swap your tags over, and you can change it back if this issue gets resolved!
Holy shit. This actually is real. Non-furs can laugh all they want but Tumblr seriously just fucked over a load of artists and blacklisted a wholeass subculture, which is really fucked.
“An investigation published on Thursday by rights groups Solidar Suisse and China Labor Watch, in partnership with the Guardian, found evidence of excessive and illegal overtime, basic pay rates as low as 85p an hour, no holiday or sick pay and high levels of exhaustion among the largely female workforce making Disney toys and products for other international toy companies including Mattel’s Fisher Price brand.”
I always knew AfterEllen.com was cryptoTERF trash but looks like they’re really showing where they stand now.
I don’t know how long this has been in the works but the last week of their Twitter profile is enough:
As well as supporting meghan murphy they are really pushing the idea of trans women as male predators. Miranda Yardley is an English trans woman who repeats TERF talking points for them and was very well received for opposing updating the Gender Recognition Act in the UK. The reference to Stonewall UK also suggests that the new staff are completely in bed with English TERFs, who have links to US Evangelical funding.
Stop supporting After Ellen, the name has essentially been bought out to promote a fascist agenda which wants to remove all trans people from existence and then work on doing the same to the rest of the LGBT community (whether individual contributors admit it or not).
Yeah afterellen was bought out and no longer is an independant website. No surprise they’re terfs bc thats the kind of agenda straight men controlling lesbian websites love 2 push
Yah. Past AE peeps are NOT impressed with what’s happened, what with now being so openly transphobic, as well as literally erasing ALL work from authors who are trans-inclusive and all articles that spoke positively about trans people in any manner whatsoever.
Current AfterEllen staff is literally erasing the voices of all the women who came before them. And yet people still ask for proof of how TERFs hurt cis women. Well there you fucking go. A bunch of men and TERFs have decided that all of the cis women they disagree with don’t deserve to have a voice anymore than trans women do.
Jessica Simpson is firing back at Natalie Portman for saying she got mixed messages from one of Jessica’s famous magazine covers way back in the day.
Jessica called out Natalie Wednesday, saying she’s “disappointed” Natalie is slut shaming her for posing in a bikini, while also boasting about being a virgin.
In a recent interview, Natalie told USA Today, “I remember being a teenager, and there was Jessica Simpson on the cover of a magazine saying ‘I’m a virgin’ while wearing a bikini, and I was confused. Like, I don’t know what this is trying to tell me as a woman, as a girl.”
Natalie, who plays a pop star in her new movie, “Vox Lux,” was talking about real-life pop stars and the virgin/vixen paradigms pushed by the music industry in the late 1990s.
Jessica thinks Natalie should know better … telling her, “As public figures, we both know our image is not totally in our control at all times, and that the industry we work in often tries to define us and box us in.”
Jessica further scolds Natalie by writing, “being sexy in a bikini and being proud of my body are not synonymous with having sex.”
The pop star’s social media rant included some shade for Natalie – “I have made it my practice to not shame other women for their choices. I encourage you to do the same.”
H/T {TMZ}
I think this is a huge misconstruing of context.
Here is the interview except:
“But she also remembers the virgin/vixen paradigms lobbed by the music industry as the millennium neared. “I remember being a teenager, and there was Jessica Simpson on the cover of a magazine saying ‘I’m a virgin’ while wearing a bikini, and I was confused. Like, I don’t know what this is trying to tell me as a woman, as a girl,” she says.”
Asking why a music industry would juxtapose the “purity” and virginity of their stars with hypersexual imagery, and what impact that had on young girls, is not shaming someone else.
I’m pretty disappointed that Jessica took a criticism that was not directed at her (in fact she confirms what Natalie says, that it wasn’t her in control of her image but executives) and turned it into some. . . Really lazy women’s empowerment rant where she brings up “times up”.
Sorry Jess, but that’s… Not good form. If anything in this era we should question more the hypersexuality that is foistered upon young celebrities and sold to even younger girls
Maybe you could have used being mentioned as a way to add to the conversation instead of making yourself and your defensive reaction the centre of the issue.
They did that with Britney Spears too. In fact that was a MASSIVE thing in the 90s.
Yeah, Jessica is just one example. There is a trend worth acknowledging that was bigger than just her.
So glad this asshole has his filthy hands away from Minecraft. Gross.
Perhaps the only time in history that people have said “Oh thank goodness this small indie company was bought out by Microsoft!”

Just in case anyone is unaware of what’s going on here, the tweets by Notch, pictured above, are examples of cryptofascism and antisemitism. I’m going to break them down in detail, just in case anyone who reads this isn’t aware of these kinds of problems already.
In the first tweet, Notch is referencing an old racist and antisemitic myth that people from different ethnicities have differing levels of intelligence.
I’ll cut short all the bullshit and just make it plain: when people like Notch talk about IQ differences, they are always trying to tell you that white people are intelligent and Jewish and black people are not. Only they’re doing it in a way that’s a lot easier for you to agree with because they aren’t wearing their antisemitism and racism on their sleeve.
As with pretty much everything fascists do, it’s just lie that they propagate to try to convince people that Jewish people and black people are inferior to white people.
In reality, no one has ever found any evidence that members of any given ethnicity are any more or less intelligent than any other.
In the second tweet, Notch is responding to an example of cryptofascism, a behavior that fascists will engage in to disguise their fascism.
The prefix crypto here refers to the idea that this is encoded language, something that you’ll miss if you aren’t in the know but that the right person, the person who knows how to decode it, will pick up on immediately. It’s a practice that fascists engage in so that they can continue to demonstrate their support for fascist ideals in full view of the public without making the rest of us immediately think of them as fascists. They also do this to make their ideas more palatable to the general public and to escape the scrutiny of anyone moderating public spaces for hate speech.
In this case, surrounding a reference to a person with triple parentheses is meant to identify that person as Jewish, signalling to any other fascists that this statement is for the consumption of other fascists. It’s also frequently used to identify Jewish people as targets for harassment and abuse, even though that’s now how it is being used here.
Not only is Notch responding directly to this, but he’s also directly agreeing with the statement that Jewish people will silence him.
Notch has previously supported the GamerGate movement, white supremacy, and homophobia. I don’t know if he’s expressed this level of comfort engaging with fascists before, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he considers them ‘his people’ given the devotion he’s given to other hateful ideologies.
